Jeff Chandler - Personal Appearances

Fifty years after the fact, Dennis Potter, while researching the Los Angeles Times, found a public appearance made by Jeff Chandler in 1957: a ground-breaking ceremony (complete with a gold-plated shovel) at the Social Security site in Hollywood at 1441 No. Cahuenga. Dennis followed Chandler's footsteps: first he went to the 1600 block of Cahuenga, the Social Security administration location prior the ground breaking ceremony. That site, intact, is a nightclub; originally, the Social Security office was in the Hollywood Professional Building, at Hollywood and Vine. The 1441 No. Cahuenga location, behind the CNN building which looms over Sunset Blvd., is a parking structure; located in the heart of Hollywood, it's within walking distance of Radio City.
